  • Question: Is a landing required on the exterior side of screen room door?

Screen enclosures are by definition ( a building or part there of... ) so as a building the exterior door is required by FBC R 311.3.2 to have a landing or floor.

Commentary:

Also, note the Exception: A top landing is not required where a stairway of not more than two risers is located on the exterior side of the door. Further, items other than a concrete pad are acceptable to serve as a landing.
