Section 207.1 of the 2014 Florida Accessibility Code, Accessible Means of Egress, General, states, "means of egress shall comply with section 1003.2.13 of the International Building Code (2000 edition and 2001 Supplement) or section 1007 of the International Building Code (2003 edition) (incorporated by reference, see "Referenced Standards" in Chapter 1."
Section 1007.2.1 of the 2003 International Building Code, Buildings with four or more stories, states, "in buildings where a required accessible floor is four or more stories above or below a level of exit discharge, at least one required accessible means of egress shall be an elevator complying with section 1007.4."
Is it the intent of section 1007.2.1 of the 2003 International building code to require a four story residential apartment building with three stories above a level of exit discharge at the ground floor to provide an elevator complying with Section 1007.4 of the 2003 International Building Code?
