  • Question: In the case of a building with distinct and seperate roof areas at differing heights, such as a multiple story building with seperate upper and lower roofs, is the mean roof height for purposes of design determined by averaging the LOWEST eave height and the highest point on the uppermost roof surface?

Answer on 04/02/2009 at 5:36 PM

In a building with distinct and seperate roof areas, Mean
Roof Height will be the average of the eave height of
highest roof area and the heighest point on the roof
surface of this highest roof area. For roof angles less
than 10 degrees, Mean Roof Height will be the eave height
of the highest roof area.
