Question
Do covered porches attached to residential construction fall under the exception of R401.3? Are they considered impervious surfaces that must be sloped away from the building foundation. Or are they part of the "structure" and part of the overall structures foundation and are not required to have a sloped floor away from the main home?

If the floor is not sloped away from the foundation, water may accumulate at the exterior walls of the structure. The purpose of the slope is to prevent water from accumulating at the foundation and exterior walls. Unless the screen room meets the weather resistant criteria of an exterior wall, the slab needs have a slope away from the building.
