Question

is it the intent of FBC 2017-Section 1511.5 to allow roof repairs (less than 25%) with like-kind quality materials, such as tile found in boneyard or salvaged from another slope or building.

Commentary

Section 1511.5 mirrors Section 706.5 of the FBC-Existing. In Chapter 3 of the Existing code book (provisions for all compliance methods) Section 302.4 allows for like materials to be permitted for repairs and alterations, provided no unsafe condition is created.
