  • Question: Is it the intent of the current code in effect, to relocate where an existing penetration of a plumbing vent stack within the valley area, on an existing home built under 1969 SFBC

The building codes are not retroactive. As per the existing building code, depending on the level of renovation it may be necessary. If it is a change of use that might also require the upgrade. If it is working fine but there is no changes to the structure then no modification would be needed. More specific details of the situation must be submitted for a more definite answer.
