Question

Is it the intent of FBC-Building section 105.2.2 Minor repairs, to allow the creation of a standardized list of exemptions to permitting by the local enforcement agency for Commercial (non-single family) structures or only allow the Building Official to make a determination on a case by case basis?

Commentary

As the code states: Ordinary minor repairs may be made with the approval of the building official without a permit. This does not dictate how the building official does this it only sets limitations for minor repairs. If the building official wants to provide a list then he/she can, if he/she wants to do case by case that is OK as well.
