Question
Is it the intent of table R302.1 (1) that if the projection falls less than 5' from the property line it would need to be fire rated or is it only if the separation wall is less than 5'?

Assuming a non-sprinklered dwelling, wall and
overhang parallel to the closest interior lot line,
where the wall is equal to at least 5ft and the
overhang is less than 5ft away but not closer
than 2ft. Yes the underside of the overhang is
required to be 1 hour FRR per table R302.1(1)
