Question
Is it the intent of 1021 exception 4, to allow only one of the two required exits to be acccessible from the dwelling unit, and if that is the intent in a mid rise residential building how is the second exit to be accessed ( rated corridor or elevator lobby?) .

Commentary
A single means of egress is permitted within and from the
unit, but it must provide access to two independent and
remote exits (as per section 1014) within the specified
travel distance.
