Question
Is it the intent of 807.5.3 that the wording "total floor and roof areas" to mean or imply separate areas meaning more than one square footage calculation would be involved.

It is the TOTAL of all of the areas, not separate areas.
Commentary
Only one square foot calculation is required. The area of
the floor and the area of the roof are summed to derive the
total floor and roof areas.
