Question

Is it the intent of Is it the intent of FBCB Section 105.1 to require permits, or for Section 105.2 to provide an exception, for the removal and replacement of 29" x 45" or 29" x 48" through-the-wall combination compressor/ heat exchanger/air conditioning units to properly install flashing as a repair in dwelling units (500 plus units) in multiple four story buildings of a large condominium complex?

YES! 105.1 requires a permit for the described repairs.

Commentary

The re-installation, re-connection of the equipment(s) mentioned, and the proposed repairs, are required to be permitted and inspected for code compliance and life-safety related concerns in accorance with 101.3 and 105.1.
