  • Question: Is it the intent of the Florda Building Commission, April 7, 2010 Meeting, Summary Report regarding FBC section 301.2.1.1.2, Sunrooms - receptacle requirements, to override the 2008 NEC section 210.52(E)(3) regarding the required receptacle outlet for Balconies, Decks, and Porches?

Answer on 06/14/2010 at 2:16 PM

It is not a question of "overriding" the NEC. AAMA 2100 is
more specific than NFPA 70 with regard to the definition of
sunrooms and the placement of receptacle outlets, and
therefore, in accordance with Section 102.1 of the Florida
Building Code, Building the provisions of AAMA 2100 prevail
over NFPA 70.
