  • Question: Is it the intent of Florida Building Code - Building Section 1510.2 to require the installation of additional fasteners to secure the roof deck to the roof structural members before installing a new roof covering?

Yes, but not under the code section cited. Re-roofing is
governed under Florida Building Code - Existing Building
Section 611. Depending on the size and spacing of the
existing roof sheathing fasteners, re-nailing may be required.
