  • Question: Referencing Section 11-4.17, what is the definition of a "toilet stall"?Referencing Section 11-4.22, what is the definition of a "toilet Room"?If a space has a handicapped accessible water closet and handicapped accessible lavatory and is enclosed by gypsum wallboard partitions from floor to ceiling and is located within a group restroom is this space considered a "toilet stall" or a "toilet room"?For water closets not located in stalls:Referencing figure 28, the center diagram shows a 48" x 56" minimum clear floor space with lavatory encroachemnt into the clear floor space. Referenceing figure 28, the left diagram shows a 60" x 56" mimimum clear floor space with no lavatory encroachment into the clear floor space. The approach to the water closet for both diagrams are the same, either front or side. Which is correct?Should the configuration for a handicapped restroom (whether defined as a toilet room or toilet stall) simply follow the clearance requirements for a stall figure 30e and also include wheelchair manuvering space as shown in figure 3?I can be reached by telephone at 561.626.9704 if futher explanation or discussion is required. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.
