Question
Does Section R302.11 of the Florida Building Code-Residential require fireblocking at the location where an attic space opens into a tub cavity or interstitial floor cavity, when that cavity is not accessible from the occupied side of the dwelling and therefore functions as a concealed space?

If the space qualifies as combustible construction, fireblocking must be provided which cuts off both vertical and horizontal draft openings that are concealed such that an effective fire barrier is created. This is true for areas between stories and between a top story and roof space.
