Both section 102.2(h), and F.S. 553.73 exempt a Chickee constructed under the outlined allowance from the requirements of the Florida Building Code. Two questions. This exemption would also exempt this structure from the requirements of the Florida Fire Prevention Code? Second question. If a concrete slab is proposed under the Chickee, but is not physically incorporated (meaning the structure post of the Chickee hut are outside the proposed concrete slab, not imbedded in the slab) would this negate the exemption allowance as the concrete slab would be noted as "incorporated into the structure, and is a nonwood feature"?
