Question
In an I-2 occupancy, does the requirement of 903.4 require the control valves of a backflow preventer on a combined fire service/potable water line to have electronic supervision?

NFPA 25 requires tamper switches and electronic monitoring of all fire sprinkler control valves. This includes the backflow preventer for the fire service as well.
Commentary
It is required unless one of the exceptions is met. In this particular case, Exception 3 may be applicable.
"3. Automatic sprinkler systems installed in accordance with NFPA 13R where a common supply main is used to supply both domestic water and the automatic sprinkler system, and a separate shutoff valve for the automatic sprinkler system is not provided."
