AAF Guide to Aluminum Construction in High-Wind Areas: This design guide is a prescriptive design method which, by Florida Statute 489.113(9), does not require the involvement of a professional engineer in order to design one of the structures covered by the guide. Does this allow a homeowner to use the guide and provide plans for an aluminum structure they wish to build as an owner/builder and considered code compliant?

Yes. the design is subject to plan review. The sealed, watermarked plans would need to be included in the electronic package submission.
