Question
Can a louvered door on an A/C closet an a/c closet (plenum return) be made out of wood and particle board if it is painted (covered) with intumescent paint

The use of Intumescent Paint is an alternative to code and should go thru submittal to the building official as a alternative materials, design and methods of construction and equipment, per Section 104.11 FBC

As a note, if this is under the Residential volume, it would be exempt from this requirement
