Question
If a walk-in cooler is placed below flood, but the condensing unit is on the top of the cooler and above flood, does this comply with the intent of the code?

There are other factors to consider before making the determination of compliance. 1) Is the walk-in cooler being placed inside an existing building, or will it be outside? 2) If outside, is it a standalone unit or attached to the existing building? 3) What is the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), or flood zone, and associated BFE? Based on the answers to these questions, there could be additional requirements for the construction and placement of the cooler box.
