Question

Is it the intent of this section that battery systems do not need ventilation per 502.4.1 and 502.4.2 since it is not regulated per Florida Fire Prevention Code for systems under 100 gallons of electrolyte in a sprinklered building?

Yes. To conclude no would negate the affect of having the phrase "as regulated by the Florida Fire Prevention Code" in the code. Also see the Code Commentary volume clarifying it is only required for large systems.
