Question

Is it the intent of Section 1507.1.1 that roof slopes that are between 2:12-4:12 that will get asphalt shingles installed are required to have double underlayment even if the underlayment used is a modified bitumen (Peel & Stick)

FBC-B section 1507.1.1 states: Underlayment for roof slopes 2:12 and greater shall conform to the applicable standards listed in this chapter. 1507.1.1.1 lists 5 means by which underlayment for asphalt shingles may be installed. Method one lists a method which requires only one layer of modified bitumen underlayment.
