Question
In Section 606.2.2 of the FBC-M, Where multiple air-handling systems sharing a common supply with a combined design capacity greater than 2,000 CFM. Is the intent of Section 606.2.2 that the multiple systems need to be ducted together or just have to share a supply in the same conditioned space?

No, FMC 606.2.2 does not require that the systems are bundled to a main trunk. FMC 606.2.2 indicates that when systems are joined to a main supply trunk and the total cfm exceeds 2,000, then smoke detection is required.
