Question
Is it the intent of code section 501.1.1 to prevent the exhaust from a generator exhausting onto to walk ways?

If the section was deemed applicable, there is no distinction between walkway and public walkway in Section 501.3.1.1. In a similar question, report #7965, the response cited applies to mechanical exhaust systems and probably does not apply to generators. Section 915 was the appropriate section and that it refers to NFPA and UL Standards for regulation of the exhaust of such equipment.
