Question
Is it the intent of Section 504.6.2 to provide a more relaxed regulation for domestic dryer then the general requirement of Section 504.4?

No, the code prohibits a dryer duct extending into or through ducts or plenums. Section 504.6.2 has more specific information where deemed necessary. For example: the diameter of the duct, direction of the joints, thickness of material, duct support, etc.
