• The exhaust air rate of the apartment, greater than 400 cfm or
• The exhaust air rate of the hood fan

The "exhaust air rate" in this section, means the exhaust rate capability of the hood. An alternate method request can be made to the Building Official with the justifications for review and possible approval.
