Question

Is it the intent of the Florida Building Code - Mechanical Section 402 to require natural ventilation in a garage or is an operable garage door acceptable? Would an operable window meet the requirement?

Yes

Commentary

In DCA02-DEC-177 and DCA02-DEC-255 the Florida Building Commission determined that a garage door could be used to achieve the minimum code required 4% of openable area to the outdoors.
