Question
Is it the intent of this section to require a fire sprinkler for a Community Residential Home with five or fewer residents (as defined in Chapter 419 F.S.)?

We are not able to interpret statutes outside the scope of
the building code but.... that statute states "(2) Homes of
six or fewer residents which otherwise meet the definition
of a community residential home shall be deemed a
single-family unit and a noncommercial, residential use for
the purpose of local laws and ordinances." The building code
is not a local law or ordinance, it is adopted as a rule
under the Florida Administrative Code guided by Florida
Statute 553 and therefore, while we cannot offer legal
advice, it appears this statute may not apply.
