Is it the intent of 304.11 to require guards for air conditioning equipment within 10 feet of the roof edge on R3 occupancies? In my personal opinion and interpretation of the code, this requirement shall be applicable for both commercial and residential occupancies, since the recurrence of equipment's maintenance and the hazard exposure of the worker/owner by falling from the roof is absolutely equal on possibilities.
