Commentary
The Exception is very specific in its application and does
not address private hangars, but those operated by a Fixed
Base Operator (FBO). There may be other avenues provided
by NFPA 409. This section permits repair facilities to store
aircraft that are awaiting parts, space to get in the repair
shop, or payment, in a separate hanger. This provides relief
from the foam requirement for these hangers since only short
term storage occurs there, and no maintenance.
