Question
Is it the intent of Section 2411.3.2.1 Exception #1 to require door assemblies only installed in "Habitable Areas/Spaces" (as defined by the Florida Building Code) to comply with water infiltration requirements?

Commentary
It is the intent of the referenced section to exempt areas
which are designed and otherwise make provisions to allow
water infiltration into the space. Tropical cyclones
produce significant rainfall and often this rainfall occurs
horizontally due to associated elevated winds. Office,
assembly, storage and retail occupancies spaces are
typically not designed with impermeable surfaces, contents
and finishes that do not become damaged due to water that
infiltrates. Don't ignore the requirement contained in the
Exception that requires the areas to be nonhabitable AND
designed to accept water infiltration. Offices, assemblies,
storage, retail and other occupancies are not typically
designed to accept water infiltration.
