Is it the intent of R315 to require a hard-wired carbon monoxide alarm to be interconnected with other residential CO or smoke alarms?

It appears the answer to the question is no.There are 4
methods to meet the carbon monoxide alarm requirement
including battery operated alarms. However, if any
of the smoke/carbon monoxide combo alarms outside the
sleeping rooms are also serving as a required smoke alarm,
they would have to be hardwired to the other smoke alarms.
