Question
Is it the intent of Section 807.4.2 of the Existing Building Code to be used on Interior, Non-Wind Load Framing?

If, in fact, the existing truss system is completely
disconnected from the structural system of the building,
the provision applies solely to the new truss system. It is
difficult to visualize how the existing system would be
totally disconnected as it would seem there would still be
connection to the exterior walls. If so, while perhaps
interior, the truss may still receive loads due to wind.

Commentary
A structural analysis of the entire assembly may be
appropriate as apparently the existing and new engineered
components are connected to the exterior walls. Also if the
existing trusses are engineered components, any alterations
to them may require engineering.
