Is it the intent of 507.2.1 to require wood burning pizza ovens be installed under a Type 1 hood?

Commentary
A Type I hood is required by code. Wood fired cooking
appliances are considered extra-heavy-duty cooking
appliances per definition at Section 202.1. Section
507.2.1 requires a Type I hood for extra-heavy-duty-
cooking appliances. Further, Section 917.1 requires them to
be listed , labeled and installed in accordance with the
manufacturer's installation instructions and compliance
with UL 2162
