711.5 Openings.Windows shall be sealed to resist the free passage of smoke or be automatic-closing upon detection of smoke. Is it the intent of this section to require a roll down shutter or a sliding widow that resist the passage of smoke be equipped with an automatic closing devices that will close the shutter or sliding window upon smoke detection? If the answer is yes, must this automatic closing device be connected to the building fire alarm system so that any fire alarm caused by the detection of smoke will close the shutter or sliding window?
