Question
Is it the intent ofarticle 362.12 (9) Uses not permitted for Type ENT conduit (where subject to physical damage) to restrict the use of �� ENT run parallel to and within the chase of a 3 �� metal framing member. There is 1 �� space from the edge of the conduit to the nearest edge of the framing member per Nec 300.4 D. Which only requires 1 ��.

No. The reference should be 2008 NEC & 362.12(10).
Commentary
The correct section of the NEC to reference is 300.4(D).
Protection against physical damage to ENT shall shall comply
with 300.4 of the NEC.
