Question

Is it the intent of this section to require CSST tubing to be bonded to the grounding electrode system with a #6 Cu. wire where it enters the building regardless of what type of piping is used to connect the system to the interior system? Would this bond need to be run underground from the grounding electrode to the entrance point of the gas piping?

Yes. 240.104(B) allows this bonding to take place.
Running the bond wire underground is not a requirement.

Commentary

The use of gas piping as the grounding electrode is not allowed. The manufacturer's installation instructions for the CSST tubing must be followed.
