Question
Is it the intent of Section 303.3 states all plastic pipe and fittings and components shall be third party certified as conforming to NSF 14. Does this requirement apply to all other chapters? Specific question, is NSF 14 certification also a requirement for all piping specified in Chapter 7, section 702 materials?

Yes it is the intent that all plastic
fittings and components be third party
certified as conforming to NSF 14. Per
the IPC commentary "Plastic piping,
fittings and plastic pipe related
components and seals used in plumbing
systems, must be tested and certified
as conforming to NSF 14. This includes
all water service, water distribution,
drainage piping and fittings and
plastic piping components including but
not limited to pipes, fittings, valves,
joining materials, gaskets and
appurtenances."
