Is it the intent of this section that review is not required for replacement of mechanical units per exemption #1

Plan reviews are specifically exempted from being required
for the change-out of an existing A/C system. The
requirements of the A/C calculations by Florida Statutes
and the Energy Code do not require the submittal of house
plans in order to obtain ther permit for A/C unit
replacements.

Commentary
The code official should establish a procedure for
accepting/documenting the required system sizing
calculations that does not violate the building code.
Commentary: One way to accomplish this task is to have the
inspector verify the data inputs of the sizing calculation
in the field to ensure the submitted calculation represents
the sturcutre being permitted.
