Question
Is it the intent of section 310.1.1 to require the bonding of all CSST piping even CSST gas appliance connectors to be with a minumum of #6 bonding jumper?

Section 310.1.1 requires the CSST gas
piping system to be "bonded to the
electrical service grounding electrode
system". This bonding shall also be in
compliance with the manufacturer's
installation instructions. Most
manufacturer's will require the bonding
wire to be routed to the bonding at the
main electrical panel or the main
grounding electrode of the service
panel. The use of bonding jumpers may
only be used when it does not conflict
with the CSST manufacturer's
installation and technical instructions
or the currently adopted version of
NFPA 70.

Commentary
Appliance flex connectors in
compliance with FBC-FG Section 411
(except item #2) may be installed
without the bonding unless the flexible
connector manufacturer specifically
requires the bonding. Those flexible
connectors are "listed and labeled" for
specific uses. CSST that is used in
accordance with the manufacturer's
instructions as an appliance connector
would still fall subject to the code
and manufacturer's requirement for
bonding.
