Question
Is it the intent of Chapter 1917,1917.1.1,.1.2 and .1.3 references to minimum compressive strength tested in compliance with ASTM C495 and C796, if the ASTM standard is not followed or the tester deviates from the recognized standard,does this invalidate the test results?

To assure the minimum compressive strength has been
acheived, it is imparative to follow the standards as
referenced in the code. If the testing lab deviates from
the proscribed test procedure the test is invalid.

Commentary
To assure the minimum compressive strength has been
acheived, it is imperative to follow the standards as
referenced in the code. However, the Building Official may
approve the test results under Section 104.11 if he/she
finds the test results comply with the requirements of this
section and sub section 104.11.1 and 104.11.2.
