Question
Is it the intent of Chapter 1917, 1917.1.1, .1.2 and .1.3 references a minimum compressive strength when tested in compliance with ASTM C495 and C796, should the most current standard of that ASTM be followed?

No. The FBCB 2007 and 2010 adopt ASTM C 495-99a and C 796-
97. The base codes 2009 and 2012 do not adopt these
standards. The latest editions could be used as an
alternate method if approved by the building official.
