Question

Is it the intent of P2708.1 to require every shower door at a shower enclosure to swing outward for a single-family home, while this "outswing" requirement does not exist for a shower door at a shower enclosure in ANY other residential use (ie: apartments) under the provisions of the florida building code or florida plumbing code?

Yes. The door must swing outward.

Commentary

This is probably put in place to allow emergency personnel to access someone needing medical assistance after fainting or falling within a shower enclosure.
