Question
Is it the intent of code section 105.15 to require all existing openings including garage doors/skylights/exterior doors/windows on single family structures to have opening protection added when located within the wind borne debris region, the home was not constructed under the Florida Building Code, the proposed work is at least $50,000.00 and the insured value/ad valorem taxation is $750,000.00 or more?

Yes, all glazed openings must be protected.
Commentary
If the residence had been constructed under the Florida
Building Code it would be exempt from the requirement to
install impact protection.
