Question
Is it the intent of 1102.6, by referencing ASME A112.21.2M-1983, to prohibit PVC or ABS roof drains in Florida?

Unfortunately the 1983 Edition of ASME A112.21.2M is the
edition adopted by the 2010 FBCP. The standard is no longer
adopted in the IPC 2012; A112.6.4-2003 is adopted there.
The options available in FLorida are:
1. Comply with standard as adopted. 2. Request approval
from the Building Official to use an alternate, equivalent
material or method per FBC Building 104.11. 3. Request a
determination of equivalency for the updated re-designated
standard from the Florida Building Commission.
