Question
Is it the intent of Section 911.1.14 to require from the fire command center the ability to manually transfer from normal to emergency power, or vice-versa, all automatic transfer switches connected to the emergency electrical system of the building? Is the requirements of line item 14 intended to be different from that of line item 9?

Yes, the provision is intended to provide transfer switch
control in the Fire Command Center. Yes, the requirement in
line 14 is from line 9. Item 9 states "power status
indicators." Item 14 is supervision, start and transfer
features.

Commentary
This identical wording is contained in the FFPC NFPA 1
section 11.9.5 (7) and (9). Considering this is an existing
building, the Building Official and Fire Official should be
consulted to determine the need and feasibility for
compliance with the specific provision of this section and
the FFPC based on the scope of the work and the work area.
