Question
Is it the intent of Section 1009.7, Exception 2, R3 Occupancy (per the 2009 Supplement), to allow the narrow end of treads to be any size radius? as long as a minimum tread depth of 9 inches at 12" from the narrow end is provided.

Commentary
In R-3 occupancy in accordance with FBCB 1009.3(as
referenced in 1009.7)specifically 1009.3 exception 4 the
minimum winder tread depth shall be 6 inches.
