Question
Is it the intent of this section of the Code to require window fins in a framed wall to be sealed with a peel and stick tape such as Tyvek tape or is this section of the code limited to flashings from behind the veneer to the exterior of the veneer such as metal head and sill flashings at a window?

The intent of the Code is "prevent entrance of water at
openings." It does not speak specifically to the "how to do
this." However, a review of the DuPont Flashing System
Installation Guideline makes it clear that this should be
done and how it should be done.
