Question
Is it the intent of the code that only grease interceptor's which comply with G101, ASME 112.14.3 or ASME 112.14.4 may be used on public sewer system. Since these standards are for 100 gallons or less, thereby limiting the size of grease interceptors to 100 gallons or less. And that gravity interceptors 750 gallon to 1250 gallons are not allowed on public sewer system.

YES, the 2007 FPC with 2009 updates section 1003.3 only
permits the use of interceptors or seperators in
conformance with PDI G101, ASME A112.14.3 or ASME
A112.14.4. Other forms of interceptors would need
to be reviewed and approved as an equal alternate by the
code official

Commentary
Stating that the PDI and ASME standards "are only for 100
gallon or less" capacity tanks" is incorrect; they are for
100 GALLONS PER MINUTE, which could easily be over 100
gallons in storage capacity.
