Question
Is it the intent of Florida Building Code that if Classroom(s) have been rearranged by space and/or change of use, those area(s) need to comply with the Florida Building Code for New Construction?

Yes. If the physical configuration of a space changes, or a

required to comply with new construction requirements.

Commentary
Because of Section 423.5.14, FBC, Building, public
educational facilities are exempted from the Existing
Building Code. See Exception to Section 101.2, Existing
Building Code.
